Industrial & Commercial Refrigeration
in Morocco
Expert in industrial refrigeration and commercial refrigeration for over 10 years. We design, install and maintain tailor-made refrigeration solutions for all business sectors in Morocco.
What is industrial refrigeration?
Industrial refrigeration covers the installations that produce and maintain a controlled temperature in order to process, store or manufacture goods. It differs from commercial refrigeration in the power involved, the continuity of service required and the level of regulatory constraint.
In Morocco it mainly serves food processing, retail, pharmaceuticals and temperature-controlled logistics. There are two broad families: positive cold rooms, between 0 °C and +8 °C, for fresh produce, and negative cold rooms, between −18 °C and −25 °C, for frozen goods. Chilled-water units, multi-compressor packs and blast-freezing tunnels complete the range.
A correctly sized installation consumes less, fails less often and lasts longer. Oversizing is paid for every month on the electricity bill; undersizing is paid for in lost stock.
Types of refrigeration installation
| Type of installation | Temperature range | Typical application |
|---|---|---|
| Positive cold room | 0 °C to +8 °C | Fruit and vegetables, dairy, fresh meat, flowers |
| Negative cold room | −18 °C to −25 °C | Frozen goods, ice cream, fish, frozen meat |
| Refrigerated warehouse | −25 °C to +8 °C | Bulk storage, temperature-controlled logistics |
| Blast-freezing tunnel | Down to −40 °C | Rapid pull-down at the end of production |
| Chilled water unit | +5 °C to +15 °C | Process cooling, food processing, industry |
| Multi-compressor pack | Variable | Sites with several enclosures, retail |
| Process cooling | Process-dependent | Manufacturing, crystallisation, line cooling |

How is your installation sized?
Sizing rests on a thermal load calculation: how much heat must be removed to hold the target temperature.
- The volume of the enclosure and its geometry
- The nature of the goods, their entry temperature and specific heat
- Turnover: how much product moves in and out each day
- Door opening frequency and how the room is operated
- Insulation: panel thickness, treatment of thermal bridges
- Internal gains: lighting, fans, occupancy
- Outside conditions, decisive in Morocco during hot weather
Two errors are costly, in opposite directions. Undersizing means a plant that runs continuously without ever reaching setpoint: accelerated wear, excess consumption, stock at risk. Oversizing means short repeated cycles, unstable control and a needlessly high electricity bill. The thermal load calculation is not a formality: it determines how the installation performs for the next fifteen years.
The stages of your project
| Stage | What happens | Indicative time |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Site visit | Survey, review of existing plant, definition of requirements | Within 72 h |
| 2. Thermal load calculation | Power calculation, equipment and refrigerant selection, drawings | 5 to 10 days |
| 3. Technical proposal | Detailed specification, justified sizing, quotation | Within 48 h of the study |
| 4. Procurement | Ordering of equipment and materials | Subject to availability |
| 5. Installation | Enclosure assembly, plant installation, connections, controls | Project-dependent |
| 6. Commissioning | Set-up, adjustment, pull-down testing | 1 to 3 days |
| 7. Handover | Full documentation pack and operator training | — |
| 8. Maintenance | Preventive service contract | Ongoing |
At handover you receive the thermal load calculation, installation drawings, the commissioning report, equipment datasheets and the service record.
What determines the budget?
Refrigeration capacity
It follows directly from the thermal load calculation. It is the largest single item, and the one an undersized quotation trims to look competitive.
Enclosure insulation
Panel thickness, joint quality, thermal bridge treatment, heated floor on negative rooms. Saving here is paid back every month in consumption.
Refrigerant and plant type
The choice commits you on regulatory compliance, parts availability and maintenance cost across the whole service life.
Site constraints
Access, available height, existing electrical supply, any civil works.
The largest item never appears on a quotation: operation. Over fifteen years, electricity and maintenance far exceed the initial investment. An installation that is cheaper to buy but poorly sized costs more from the third year onwards.
Every project is quoted after a site visit and thermal load calculation.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between industrial and commercial refrigeration?
Commercial refrigeration serves retail and catering: display cases, refrigerated cabinets, small rooms. Industrial refrigeration involves higher capacities, larger volumes and critical continuity of service. The dividing line is less about temperature than about power and the consequences of a shutdown.
How long does a cold room installation take?
From a few days to several weeks depending on volume, the type of refrigeration and site constraints. The real timeline is confirmed after the site visit and study.
Do you work on existing installations?
Yes. We carry out extensions, upgrades and plant replacements on installations we did not fit, following a full diagnosis.
Do you provide handover documentation?
Yes. Thermal load calculation, drawings, commissioning report, equipment datasheets and service record are provided at handover.
How do you guarantee correct sizing?
Every project gets a thermal load calculation based on your real operating data. The sizing is justified in the technical proposal: you know the basis on which the capacity was chosen.
Which cities do you cover?
All of Morocco from our Casablanca base, with priority coverage in Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Tangier, Agadir and Fès.
